Hey guys been awhile since I've been on here but thought I would share my 174" upgrade, I just got a smoking deal on a 174x15x2.5 Challenger track, 174" Ice Age rails, 174" VE tunnel, bumper & HD cooler, paid only $750 Canadian for all of it!!!!!! Will post photos as I make progress will be doing the swap within the next few days. Cheers!

Alright so after some measurements and looking at things I have run into a couple issues, 1: the iceage rails are cut for 9" rear wheels. 2: the outer nubs need to be cut off to clear the diamond drive. 3: the L clips are facing opposite direction from the stock track therefore I will need to remove them all and reclip it the proper way so there is no interference with the diamond drive. I have done some research and I have purchased an offset axle from Tricked Toys here in Canada, the axle size is for 25mm bearings, I will be installing factory Alpha One 10" rear wheels which are less than $80 each and also have the 25mm bearing diameter like most aftermarket billet wheels and will fit the offset axle kit. I will remove all of the clips from the track, cut the outer nubs to clear the diamond drive, and install new clips every second window on the paddles with the L inwards, I will be porting the track with 2 - 2 1/4" holes down the center, I have done this to previous tracks with great results, with removing every second clip and porting i should loose about 4lbs rotating mass from the track. I feel this will be an excellent setup when I am finish hopefully within the next 2 weeks depending on the parts coming in the mail. Here are a few photos to show what I am talking about.

While I wait for parts I am wondering, I currently have my rear skid set up with the geo mod and in the lower front hole, last year the machine was doing great was keeping up with brand new 850 doos and poos, I dont think I will be able to run geo mod with the 2.5 lug track due to not enough clearance, I will have to have the skid in the lower rear hole, any thoughts or input on this?

I run this combo and the track will rub barely. Not sure if it's a terrible idea but i clipped off outer 1/4" at a 45deg with scissors to clearance. Seemed worth it to me.

I dont like any rubbing, and if the track is rubbing on the tunnel you have no clearance for snow and air to move thru the tunnel and it is costing you track speed and power, also I am not interested in cutting any paddle off, I bet your machine would perform just as well if not better if you went back to stock configuration and had a larger gap thru the tunnel for easier snow flow. It would be nice to build a custom rear skid bracket to be able to retain the Geo mount location just drop it down for lug clearance, I may build something when I have my machine apart... Has anyone built custom rear brackets with success?

Hey guys happy holidays to all, quick update, axle has arrived and wheels are on it, been busy last few weeks with work and covid and christmas ect, still waiting on track clips and tool to show up hopefully any day now, pulling the sled in the shop today to disassemble and do the tunnel swap, will keep updating and take lots of photos, and hopefully I will be riding this beast by next weekend.

Hey guys, so last night I got the tunnel swapped, today I am hoping to complete the project in 5 hours, just have to remove all the track clips, trim the outer nubs, install new clips, swap over skid parts and install track and skid assy. Here are some pics will post more tonight!

Update: turns out removing clips from a fully clipped track and installing new ones every second window takes quite awhile! Was so glad when that part was over took about 4 hours! Here are some comparison photos between 162-174, track is complete, ported and reclipped every second window with clips inwards and outer drive nubs trimmed to 1/4" also took a torch and burnt off all the exposed fibers throughout the track and cleans it up nicely weighted everything removed and saving 4lbs of track rotational weight.

Hey guys, got the skid in, took bit of time and polished the rails and all the skid parts etc.. just need to install ice scratchers and taillight/flap and top up the coolant and shes a ripper, looks badass cant wait to try it out next weekend in the deep and steep!

Hey sorry for the delay been busy, sled is amazing, first ride out it felt like a brand new machine it climbed and ripped up everything my buddies could one has a 2020 skidoo 850 165x3" one is on a 2018 pro 800 174x3" another on a 2018 pro 800 163x3" nothing bad to say about it feels amazing!
