Wanted to get some opinions on the "Black ICE" brand ski glides for trailers. I have an 09' dragon 800 and the carbides are brutal. I bought a brand new 12' aluma trailer last year and bougt sno-stuff ski slips to protect it from the skis. This worked but was extremely annoying to put on and take off everytime. The carbides on my dragon wore holes in the ski-slips in no time, waste of $100.. grrr..

So now I'm looking at the "Black ICE" brand ski glides. They are only 1/4" thick so I'm really worried about my carbides toasting them in no time. Anyone have any experience with these? How durable are they?

Those are going to make your trailer like an ice skating rink, nothing but a thin smooth surface. Have you looked at SuperGlides? They cost more up front, but I have never heard of one not holding up and they provide traction for walking around on a frozen trailer.

Check out our new Superglide II Pros, www.superclamp.net You will not be disappointed. Black Ice brand ski glides are the glides of yesterday, Superglides are the glides of today, thinking of your Safety. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me 1-403-203-2210

The Caliber low-glides look exactly like the Black Ice glides. I'm leaning torwards the Caliber Multi-Glide because of the price point. I've found 40' feet for $116 shipped ($129.99 MSRP) and it's a deep channel glide to keep my carbide from shredding things apart.

About $30 more then the black ice option but should last longer and give me the end result I'm looking for. I looked at the super glides.. too expensive. looks like a nice product just not within our budget.

Can't put a price on Safety.

i have the black ice, they work great. they are much cheaper and all you have to do is not step on them. a good fall only makes you stronger!
another reason i got the black ice was because they arent very deep. this allows me to store and carry other things in my enclosed trailer without them getting in the way.

Super Glides are the best! No denying that. Maybe a few more dollars up front but they are just better quality. They are made of better material than the others.
Just cause they look the same doesn't mean they are the same.

Look at the quality of the Super Clamps. Same quality in the Super Glides.

With Super Glides or Super Clamps you have AMAZING after sales service. Not many companies back there products like the guys from Superclamp.

i did the caliber grip guides in mine the slide well and you don't .i looked at the black ice and found they where to slippery and only 4 inches wide instead of 6 , i think you would be happier if you spent a little more .

Agreed, Caliber grip glides or superclamp glides only. Don't even bother with the smooth glides anywhere, unless you like slipping and falling.
