funny

So I put skies down just because I could not really think of anything else kind of a last thing and it gets a vote. Skies might help you on the trail but that's about it that too me is like adding shocks because they ride better.

this was more of a performance thing bang for the buck what's going to help my sled performer better on the hill and I guess if skies will do that then that's good.

I picked the track, but skis would be my second choice. I always had powder pros on my M7 and M1000. Then I jumped on my dad's 2011 M8 with the stock skis and kind of missed having them in the deep snow. Keeps the front end from diving in so much when you are doing down hill turns, and any time you are turning without carving they don't push as much. They are actually a little worse on the trail because they steer harder. Not a necessity, but nice to have.

I picked skis just because of the bang for the buck factor and I have had powder pros on my last 3 sled.

Out of curiousity, why did you start this poll? Is it a just for fun pole to help people out who are new to the M-series? Or are you trying to get statistics for a certain a reason?

Just curious...

Proving a point

You know how you tell some one something and they question if you are really telling you the whole truth. A guy wanted to buy a head for his 2010 M8 and I told him he was nuts when you can put a 2.6 on for about the same price and the bang for the buck was lots better.

Head 450 about right plus insatll
2.6 about 800 - sell 2.25 PC 2-300

Not really

should include things like 3" track, Full pipe set, head kit, fuel controller. ETC.

I did not do it for your benefit I did it to prove a point to a SW guy. He wanted to buy a head for the HO and I told him it did not need it that he should spend his money on something more beneficial. Like a 2.6 under a 1000.00

The 3X is more than a 1000 to his door

YEP, head is a waste of money. Yep a PC 2.6 is a waste of money. Save a few more months and go 3" track and he will beat both the head and PC. Oh, almost forgot, Skis are a waste of money when saving for a mod that works.

3" fits fine on the M with stock drivers

after install there will be .25" of clearance from the front cooler. not alot but enough. been running one since last february, only negatives are it makes alot of noise at higher speeds, and no one can pass you because of the grapefruit sized snowballs you are throwing out behind you.

downhill braking is awesome!

No gear change but you will have to lighten up the clutch weights to get your RPM back. With MDS weights I had to move the set screw to the inside hole.

before you buy .............

before you buy gas and oil for your 05 06 07 08 09 m it needs correct gearing for performance riding to....ah like go up any incline, read hills big or small. so if you buy or steal it or pay $1000 for it, no other correction in incorrect manufacture will return as much thud in a dud. Then other big bang additions have a chance to work.

I have no experience of 3x track but at least CE works really really good here in Finland. Also one thing to mention is weights. Stock 71.5gr (sea level) is way too light and leaves a lot on the table. Pal put 75gr but even 77gr would have worked.

If I had M8 -10/-11 my 1000$ list would be like this:
- CE 2.5" track
- Adjustable weights (CPC or Daltons)
- 2 degree advanced timing key
- Can
- DIY intake to save weight and to open hood stock venting to release air

IMO head and reeds are waste of money as it runs really good after these mods. If I had more money to spend, the list would contain SLP PP (or Lynx Blade) skis and Formula-X secondary kit. Rest of the money would find the way into tank :D

being a '10 I would buy a real rear shock and a can to start with, the 11' is better.

I would prob go with a pipe, havent seen a huge different in the 2.6 except on those days you just as well have a 3 but the 3 will also trench like a biotch on those other days. The track on it works pretty good unless its abused and weak, then I would go with the 2.6

on a 10/11 I bet the 3" would be the best $1000 if you can always find fresh
